Global Clean Energy Leaders Visit IB Solar’s Noida Manufacturing Facility, Witness India’s Rising Solar Manufacturing Capabilities

    New Delhi: In a development that underscores the increasing global focus on India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem, a high-level international delegation led by Ms. Sarah Ladislaw, Chief Executive Officer of the New Energy Industrial Strategy (NEIS) Centre, along with Mr. Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, Chief Executive Officer of the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and distinguished representatives from the United States, visited IB Solar’s advanced solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

    The visit comes at a time when India is strengthening its position as a global hub for clean energy manufacturing, backed by ambitious renewable energy targets, increasing investments in domestic production, and a growing emphasis on resilient supply chains. Industry experts believe that as global demand for photovoltaic modules continues to rise, manufacturing quality, technological capability, and production reliability will become key differentiators for Indian companies seeking to compete internationally.

    During the visit, the delegation toured IB Solar’s manufacturing facility and received a detailed overview of the company’s production processes, automation systems, quality assurance framework, and technological capabilities. The delegation also interacted with the company’s leadership and technical teams to understand how Indian manufacturers are scaling production while maintaining stringent quality standards.

    Discussions during the visit centred around the evolution of India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, opportunities for international collaboration, the importance of resilient and diversified supply chains, and the role of domestic manufacturers in supporting the country’s clean energy ambitions. The interaction also explored how closer cooperation between industry stakeholders can accelerate innovation and strengthen the global renewable energy value chain.

    The visit reflects the growing international interest in India’s expanding manufacturing capabilities as the country continues to reduce import dependence while building a globally competitive solar industry. Over the past few years, India’s policy focus on domestic manufacturing has encouraged significant investments in production infrastructure, advanced technologies, and quality-led manufacturing practices.

    IB Solar, which has been operating in the energy sector for more than 35 years, has steadily expanded its manufacturing capabilities to support this transition. The company currently operates a 1.8GW solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida and manufactures a portfolio that includes TOPCon, N-Type, Mono PERC, Bifacial, and DCR photovoltaic modules for commercial, industrial, institutional, utility-scale, and government projects across India.

    A major focus of the delegation’s visit was IB Solar’s quality assurance ecosystem, which has been designed to align with internationally accepted manufacturing and testing practices. Every solar module undergoes multiple stages of inspection throughout the production cycle, including Electroluminescence (EL) Testing to detect hidden cell defects, Sun Simulator Testing to validate electrical performance, Hi-Pot Testing to ensure electrical insulation and operational safety, as well as comprehensive in-line process inspections and final quality verification before dispatch.

    The company’s manufacturing operations are supported by recognised industry certifications, including BIS Certification, IEC compliance, and ALMM enlistment, reflecting adherence to established quality, safety, and performance benchmarks. Such quality assurance protocols have become increasingly important as solar assets are expected to deliver reliable power generation over operating lifespans extending beyond two decades.
