Arvind P. Mathur is a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in investment management, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, and family offices. He brings several decades of experience from leading global institutions, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Citibank, and Standard Chartered Merchant Bank. He is the former President of the Indian Venture Capital & Alternative Assets Association (IVCA) and has also led the Impact Investors Council. Arvind currently serves as an adviser to a number of distinguished fund managers and entrepreneurs in India. He is a member of the Independent Advisory Committee of a portfolio institution backed by a New York-based special situations fund with assets of US$14 billion. Arvind is deeply passionate about renewable energy—particularly solar and wind—not only as a means of addressing India’s energy deficit but also for its significant health benefits. His experience spans both fund and direct investments. He has served on Investment Committees, fund boards, the global pension fund of the ADB and a SEBI Committee. He has collaborated with prominent Limited Partners, including ADB, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), CalPERS, La Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, the Prudential Insurance Corporation, as well as leading institutional investors in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and India. Arvind has been a strong proponent of corporate governance in investment funds and portfolio companies. He is a professionally qualified CFA Charterholder and has completed the Financial Risk Management (FRM) course from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), USA. He has also undertaken executive education programmes at Columbia Business School, Cornell University, and the Harvard Business School.
